Johanna Hyman is an associate attorney at JLG who regularly works on behalf of corporations in the areas of business entity formation, intellectual property prosecution and litigation, commercial litigation, contract drafting, media law, technology and internet law, music and entertainment law, and employment & labor law. She prides herself on being a passionate, disciplined legal professional capable of advising, counseling, representing and assisting individuals, professionals, and businesses achieve their goals and add value, while also helping protect and maintain their legal rights in and out of court. Johanna also has extensive experience enforcing judgments in Illinois state and federal courts.
Prior to joining JLG, Johanna worked at a Chicago-based general practice law firm where she primarily handled employment litigation matters. She has worked in the legal departments of Sony Network Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, clerked at a prominent IP, media and business firm in Chicago and externed for the honorable Robert E. Gordon of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, Johanna earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and is a member of the Illinois Bar and the General Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. She previously earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and brings her creative journalism, public relations and media-related work experience to the practice of law. In her spare time she enjoys cycling on the Lakeshore path and spending time with her husband Danny.
