Aaron Ogunro

Aaron is an associate attorney in Jayaram Law’s Chicago office. His practice focuses on data privacy and security and intellectual property matters. Since joining the firm, Aaron has worked with creatives, startups, and large corporations to ensure their data privacy and intellectual property needs are met. Aaron uses his experience in legal project management and outside counsel management to ensure that he is working efficiently and effectively for clients. He is also an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S.

Aaron’s data privacy and security practice has been largely transactional and compliance-based. He drafts privacy and security policies and procedures and negotiates various types of data privacy and technology agreements. He also advises clients regarding the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), along with other federal and state privacy laws. His intellectual property experience involves trademark and copyright transactions and prosecution.

Aaron graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he received Dean’s List honors and participated in Vanderbilt’s Intellectual Property Clinic. Aaron also attended Vanderbilt as an undergraduate, where he studied Economics and Medicine, Health and Society. Prior to law school, Aaron worked in Abbott Laboratories’ legal department, working in its outside counsel management group.

Aaron was born and raised in Libertyville, a northern suburb of Chicago, before spending seven years in Nashville attending Vanderbilt. Outside of work, Aaron spends most of his time watching international soccer, especially his favorite team, Manchester United. Aaron is also an avid fan of stand-up comedy.
